In 1942, the Russian military engineers were urgently searching for suitable BM-13-16 “Katyusha” rocket launcher chassis as addition to and substitution for their own, by now more and more obsolete ZIS-6 truck. The Russian military engineers tested and used nine Lend-Lease trucks, including the GMC CCKW-352 (also known as Jimmy or Deuce-and-a-Half) in 1942. The Russians received only 6,700 pieces of the CCKW-352, with its open and closed cabs, as well as the long 164in. The Russians only received 6,700 parts, including the wheelbase with an open or closed cab and with and without a winch.
